Carbonization rate and absorption rate

Jan 25, 2022

The carbon increase rate is the percentage of carbon increase per unit time, and the absorption rate is the ratio of the carbon in the carburizer to be absorbed by the molten iron. The carburizing speed of the molten iron and the absorption rate of carbon in the carburizer are affected by the following factors: 1. The type of the carburizer 2. The particle size of the carburizer 3. The temperature of the carburizing treatment 4. The composition of the molten iron 5. The stirring degree of the molten iron . The carbonization efficiency of graphitized petroleum coke and graphite electrode is relatively high. When smelting in electric furnace, the general absorption rate is about 88%. The stronger the stirring of molten iron, the higher the carbonization efficiency, which can reach 90% at 1490 °C.
